We know this school year looks different than years past…much different. It’s full of unknowns all across the board, anxieties, and so many different emotions. I’m not saying anything that you do not already know, especially with most of you being parents finding yourself navigating through this season.
And we feel called to come together and pray together as a church.
Acts 12 tells a powerful story about what happened when the church prayed for Peter while he was in prison. It records that he was ‘placed under the guard of four squads of four soldiers each…Fastened with two chains between two soldiers. Others stood guard at the prison gate. (Acts 12:4-6)’ Seemed like a pretty impossible situation to get out of; but little did Peter know that while he was in prison, ‘the church prayed very earnestly for him. (Acts 12:5)’ Spoiler alert…an angel appeared to Peter, his chains fell off, and he ended up walking right out of the gate without being stopped.
“Prayer does not change God’s nature; who He is will never be altered. Prayer does, however, impact the flow of history. God has wired this world for power, but he calls on us to flip the switch.” – Max Lucado
Because of this, we came together as a church and prayed earnestly for our LH Families and more specifically for this upcoming school year this year. Use the link below to devote yourself to a week of prayer revolving around this new school year!
